What is a Starlight Destination?

The Starlight Foundation recognizes the unbeatable situation for observing the night sky, free from the pollution that prevails in most places. The system is based on the principles of the 'Declaration on the Defense of the Night Sky and the Right to Starlight'.”.

Since 2017, the Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park has held this certificate. The National Park has received this recognition for its excellent qualities for stargazing offering visitors the possibility to observe the stars and astronomical phenomena in a sky free of light pollution.

Naviera Mar de Ons operates from the main departure ports of the Rías de Vigo and Pontevedra, and every year launches these astronomy activities to enjoy the night sky completely away from light pollution.

If you are more than 30 people, an association, a school or any other group, please contact our commercial department of Groups and Companies, located at Cánovas del Castillo number 26 in Vigo, our team will assist you and offer the best activities for you.

Mar de Ons offers you to sail to the National Park of the Atlantic Islands where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a dark sky to see the stars in a protected natural area.

Tickets must be booked through our website because places are limited and it is easy to sell out days in advance.
